today wasn't just good.. it was GRAPE!!
we went to a local vineyard today to help them make some white wine!
it was so fun, definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity.
i know everyone is going to ask "did you stomp on the grapes??"
nooo unfortunately, there was no repeat of the "i love lucy" episode, everything is machine done- we live in the 21st century people! but it would have been cool to stomp on some grapes

it was the first day of the harvest, the vineyard was beautifullll (big surprise, everything here is beautiful) after a very hot bumpy ride with all 22 of us standing in the back of an unmarked white van, we hopped out to see this:

later, a little treat for our manual labor

and then we sifted through all the grapes we picked as they passed us on the conveyor belt (total, we picked 65 big buckets, that makes about 32 bottles of wine)
then, the nice italian man explained to us how wine was made:) it was very interesting.

afterwards, the vineyard people gave each of our rooms 2 bottles of red wine as a thank you.
today was vonderful. and sticky. but mostly wonderful.
