too squishy for us americans, so we left

I've spent far too much effort trying to be an apple. Other people make being an apple look so enticing that I want to try to be one, too. So, I've found the suggestion of not trying to be an apple helpful.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, for some things maybe it just takes most people lots of time/effort to be...say...bread...and so it's not that I'm trying to be an apple when I'm a banana...it's that I'm trying to be bread, but I haven't been trying for long enough to become first-rate bread. So, in this case, if I really want to be bread, I should keep trying...but not in the other case...and I haven't figured out how to tell the difference between apples and bread...
